Healthy Monday is my weekly note to start your week with one small, practical step towards feeling your best. Each week: a thought, a little body knowledge, one simple tip and an ingredient to try.

This week's thought

Your skin often reflects what's happening inside your body. What you nourish yourself with matters just as much as what you put on your skin.

Let's understand your body

Your skin is the body's largest organ, and it's often where changes in digestion, stress or hormones first become visible, for example as breakouts, dryness or a dull complexion.

Collagen is the protein that gives skin its structure and bounce. Your body's own production naturally slows with age. Vitamin C contributes to normal collagen formation, which is why getting enough of it through your diet matters.

Your Hecna tip

Pair a collagen-rich food (such as bone broth) with a source of vitamin C (orange, kiwi or red pepper).

And don't forget water. Not drinking enough is one of the most common, and easiest to fix, reasons skin feels dry.

Pairing of the week: bone broth and vitamin C

A simple, comforting way to look after your skin from the inside.

How to use it: enjoy a cup of bone broth alongside a vitamin C source, such as half an orange or a few slices of red pepper.

A little reminder

Skin needs patience. Changes tend to show over months rather than weeks, so be consistent and kind to yourself.
